Roof Restoration... !

The place where I live in is in one of the flats of the large council place in Chalvey, Slough. The roof at the time of writing is going through a "comprehensive restoration" notably with new tiles replacing old ones. It is not everyday that something like this happens.

The flats are surrounded by metal rods with planks of wood to support the people doing this huge task. It is rather strange at times to see workers with their hard hats so close to one's flat window chatting away and joking at times. Drill like sounds can be heard on occasion as well as loud knocking sounds!

The initial scaffolding around the flats in Chalvey. More was later added. The photo was taken  on a gloomy morning!

More scaffolding and a yellow metal dumpster plus what appears to be a red coloured shute for rubbish from the roof.

The flats from behind where the resident parking spaces are...

Three bollards near to one of the security doors leading upto the flats

Metal bars and nuts and bolts plus wooden planks for workers to stand  on for them to do their job..More of the neccesssary was ofcourse added later on.

!This image here was taken through my window shows  some grains of dirt plus bird droppings!

The balcony overlooking the car park space and park behind the flats which can hardly be seen.  Old wooden roof tile supports can be viewed dumped on the right during the roof restoration They have been put onto another  simple elevated structure made of metals rods and  wooden  planks.  Also a new fence on the day was very quickly constructed too and can be seen on the far right.

Again another  pic of old wooden tile supports along with  a large metal waste container beneath.  Three cars parked can also be seen.

A view through my window.....on the front side of the flat facing the main street.

A blue "pulley" rope can be seen  via my window and again a  public bench and a deck chair can also be spotted for some of the workers to have their breaks after work.

An open kitchen window..it shows the back part of Salt Hill Park and runs along a small brook. Homeless people are known to settle there, and on occasion can be seen to come and go through an opening in the fence.

Door window from inside....It consists of a very fine wire mesh, and two vertical scaffolding bars can be "seen" along with the fence and the greenery beyond.

No need for an explanation...except to say that the door was shortly replaced with a new one..
