On the Road
From mid 2004 to the end of 2005 I experienced a period homelessness for reasons I shall not disclose. It was a strange, and "surreal" event.... My previous bedsit was in Elliman Avenue, Slough. I had a very large collection of books there, and gave them to charity before leaving. In my homeless state, I initially sofa surfed at a friend's place in Langley. I was there for only three weeks, and I had a distinct impression that my host as it were was "turning against me." So, I left on my own volition without telling him. I knew too he was potentially dangerous as he had a past for violence...... which is a great shame because otherwise he was a very charming, and creative man. But there we are. Three Attempted Assaults When one is homeless one is open to any number of negative possibilities including assault. I experienced three near attempts. Once I recall waking up on my bench in the middle of night to find two bizarre people silently looking at me ...
